When in...Singapore - part I.

Thinking about the photos for my mum´s birthday present (photography sketchbook), I went through the file with all pics from our last vacation...and that was definitely the best reminder, since it caused that all the memories and feelings of this trip returned back to me. It´s already been more than 3 months since I´ve been to Asia, however, writing this article and choosing the pictures, I´m living it all again and again!

Singapore was the first stop during our three-weeks expedition trip to Asia. Firstly, we decided to travel to Thailand for 10 days and have the "swimming-sunbathing-eating" kind of vacation...looking back, I´m so glad we changed our minds and planned our trip in a bit more adventurous way!

After the quick stop in Dubai, we arrived to Singapore around the noon. Singapore is 6 hours ahead of Prague and to be honest, that time, I was thinking just about some good asian food and a hotel room bed! Walking the city from the early morning till the late night, I didn´t even mind the cold water and "asian style" breakfast in our super budget hotel. Despite my love for asian cuisine, the "asian style" breakfast including fried rice, fish soup, mixed meat balls and soy sauce noodles was kinda too much for my stomach.

What do I recommend to visit? We started our tour on the south bank of Singapore River with the view of skyscrapers and the Singapore´s official designed symbol Merlion. The must-see is definitely Raffles Place, Fulerton Hotel, Marina Bay Sands casino/hotel with amazing rooftop infinity pool and Gardens by the Bay, Singapore´s 21st - century botanic garden with hi - tech supertrees. After the lunch in Chinatown (worth to visit too), we continued by subway (keep it clean! you can´t even drink water inside!) to Sentosa, popular island resort in Singapore with variety of funny attractions and a huge number of Chinese tourists...

From what I´ve seen during these 4 days, I was really impressed with this super modern and cosmopolitan city...one visit is definitely not enough for me! Keep connected for the second part of photos!
